LEGAL REPRESENTATION FOR MIDDLE EASTERN AND NORTH AFRICAN (MENA) BUSINESSES OPERATING IN NY, NJ, PA OR TX
Our law firm welcomes legal engagements to assist Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) business clients that are pursuing opportunities in NY, NJ, PA or TX. Among others, this includes businesses based in countries such as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Egypt.
Representing Companies and Other Business Interests Headquartered in the Middle East
Recently there has been growing business investment in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Texas— states in which our law firm has offices with active practices—by businesses situated in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). These respective economic communities—including businesses with a cross-national connection between the United States and such countries as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Egypt–are becoming a significant player in the domestic United States market. Those two markets have become entwined more than ever to the benefit of both.
These legal matters range from litigation & mediation to intellectual property (IP) and trademark filings. Another key legal need for MENA companies operating in the NJ, NY, PA & TX markets is utilizing robust commercial contracts that have been vetted by an attorney. For example, such agreements can range from commercial leases and construction agreements to business partnerships, mergers and acquisitions, and employment law.
Over the years our law firm has represented U.S. subsidiaries of European Union (EU) owned parent companies. This has involved handling both highly complex litigation and transactional matters. Our firm has also taken on matters involving the unique legal and business issues that arise when representing companies outside the United States that are involved in legal matters within its borders.
There are two main reasons that the legal needs of potential MENA clients are growing. First, there has been an increase in the number of international trade agreements and policy declarations issued by Middle Eastern countries that serve to promote business ventures with the United States. This includes utilizing emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and e-commerce.
Additionally, on a broader level there is a need for more generalized commercial legal services such as closing a business sale, contract negotiation and acquisition of real estate holdings. Finally, it is also vital that such businesses be represented when the unfortunate need arises for litigation, arbitration and/or mediation of pending disputes.
The Nissenbaum Law Group has a senior attorney who is fluent in Arabic
In addition, it is important to note that our firm employs Salma A. Attia, Esq., a senior of counsel attorney who is fluent in Arabic.
Salma A. Attia, Esq., of counsel to the Nissenbaum Law Group, LLC,
To be clear, any such legal representation would also involve the other attorneys and paralegals of our law firm; we work as a team. However, the initial communication with a potential client that has operated in such countries as Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman and Egypt but is now in the process of entering the domestic United States market could begin with an attorney who speaks that language. Having said that, our firm will often request that clients which do retain our law firm appoint an individual(s) who speaks both English and Arabic and can act as a liaison between our firm and those within the client’s infrastructure who do not speak English.
Our firm has represented international clients in a wide variety of United States commercial transactions and litigation matters involving their business interests in the United States, including
- Federal litigation in the United States District Court
- State litigation
- Administrative agency legal matters
- Commercial transactional closings
- Employment law matters
- Sales distribution agreements
- Terms and conditions and privacy policies for digital platforms
- Copyright and trademark filings and enforcement
- General corporate law advice
Often, the most important thing is to have a trusted advisor who will listen to a client’s concerns with appropriate openness and strategic thought, so as to come up with an approach that has a reasonable chance of being effective. Whether a client’s needs involve our litigation team, transactional team, or legal advice generally, our law firm philosophy is to utilize empathy in the representation and find a way to resolve legal problems with the least necessary rancor and divisiveness. All in all, our firm stands ready to assist select clients with their commercial law needs in either New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania or Texas.
