The Nissenbaum Law Group has extensive experience representing authors, performers & musical groups in a variety of entertainment law vehicles. This runs the gamut from negotiating best-selling book deals to protecting the intellectual property rights of rock groups; from handling a dispute over a seven figure modeling contract to maintaining and securing the rights of minors to the monetization of their performances; from negotiating the production of television shows to major motion picture rights and ancillary income streams. The firm is also heavily involved in the entertainment law aspects of digital platforms such as video games and apps. In that regard, it’s entertainment lawyers have substantial experience in complex, multi-layered licensing arrangements to monetize entertainment vehicles.
Over the past two decades, the Nissenbaum Law Group’s entertainment practice has grown dramatically. It currently includes lawyers familiar with the music, television and film industries who have not only represented a variety of musical groups, actors, film producers, television personalities, authors and models, but also their production companies and the ventures formed to monetize the resulting intellectual property through digital and licensing platforms. This aspect of the firm’s entertainment law services includes, among other items, the following:

- Negotiation of athlete and celebrity endorsement, sponsorship and appearance agreements;
- Formation of independent record labels and management, production and publishing companies;
- Purchase and sale of independent record labels and other entertainment entities;
- Review and negotiation of recording and music video production and management agreements;
- Negotiation of literary, screenplay and theatrical rights;
- Pre-production review for television, film and print media;
- Negotiation of music and branding-related clearances;
- Negotiation of production rights related to theater productions;
- Preparation of television and film talent agreements;
- Registration, maintenance and enforcement of copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights, including practice before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board on behalf of singers, songwriters, bands and corporate entities;
- Litigation of trademark and copyright infringement claims;
- Negotiation of film financing agreements;
- Review and negotiation of option and purchase agreements, including screenplay purchase agreements, film option agreements, television option agreements and acquisition of fictional works and life story rights;
- Negotiation of theatrical production, financing and investment agreements; and
- Review and negotiation of license, assignment and royalty agreements.
